Waymaker Ladies began in 2020 as a small gathering of women ready to be refreshed and renewed in their walk with Christ. We launched our first retreat during the pandemic! Choosing a quaint and peaceful resort along the inter-coastal of St. Petersburg, FL., this group enjoyed pulling back from the world for a few days to focus on their souls, their relationship with Christ, and try some new creative experiences in art and nature. Since that time we have offered more retreats, Bible studies, outings, missionary visits, and crafting, all as a way to stay connected and invite more ladies.

In thinking back to the October 2021 Waymaker retreat, this Psalm came to mind. This was my first experience with this group and I really didn’t know what to expect. What a blessing it turned out to be! For me it was a time of spiritual reflection and growth. I had time to “allow” God to make me lie down in “green pastures,” and lead me beside “gently lapping waves.” By the end of the retreat, I can honestly say He restored my soul.
Also! I made new friends, did some fun art projects, watched the sun rise over the water and the brilliant Hunter moon rise. What a wonderful time of fellowship with other women of varied ages. I’m looking forward to the next retreat.”
“As a missionary serving in Brazil among the indigenous people, one of the highlights on my time in USA this year, was the privilege to participate in the Waymaker Ladies Retreat. This was a special gift from the Lord for several reasons. The limited size of the retreat to twelve ladies allows the growth of relationships and be more comfortable in sharing our hearts. Also, the location was beautiful, a small resort in St. Petersburg on the inter-coastal. We especially enjoyed the Lord’s creation at sunrise, sunset and the full moon was a bonus. But on top of everything, it was my time in the prayer room with the Lord and the Bible teaching that impacted me the most. It was 3 days of listening to God speaking to me personally in many areas of my life, including my creativity ha-ha… I am not good in arts and crafts but the encouragement of the leaders of the retreat helped me to challenge myself, have a good time, and get many illustrations of how the Lord works in mysterious ways. I praise the Lord for giving this vision to Theresa and Sandra and for their courageous spirit to step out in faith. I am going home with memories of this special time and with more friends in my heart. God bless you Waymaker ladies.”
“I had a wonderful time at the Waymaker Ladies retreat. I made new friends and got to know current ones better. It was such a peaceful time drawing closer to the Lord. We had beautiful sunrises each morning and got to spend quality time in the Word and with each other. I loved how we were able to prioritize quiet time by being “away from the outside world”. There were some fun adventures as well including a trip to an art museum where we got to play with clay and attempt creating a masterpiece. I hope to return to future retreats and highly recommend to anyone thinking about attending. It’s hard to put into words the complete experience, but just trust me in saying that it is well worth it, and you will definitely feel and be in the presence of God while you are there.”

And not knowing ahead of time what each day would entail, added to my enjoyment.”
“The setting was an intimate hotel situated on the inter-coastal, a perfect time to spend time with God in prayer. In the morning, we gathered with our spiritual leader to read and reflect on God’s Word. We were encouraged to take any issues on our heart to God in prayer. I came to the retreat with a stirring issue on my heart and left with answers from God and a peaceful heart.
I enjoyed that the retreat was balanced with creative art projects and time to enjoy the beauty and nature has to offer us in Florida. I look forward to attending the next Waymaker Ladies Retreat.”
